Peter McCulloch is a PhD candidate in Music Composition at New York University, where he studies with Robert Rowe, Jason Eckhardt, Nick Didkovsky, and Dinu Ghezzo. He is also a teaching fellow in the music technology department where he teaches a course on computer music synthesis. He received his Masters of Music degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied with Joseph Rovan and Joseph Klein, and worked as a teaching assistant at the Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia. Peter received his Bachelor of Music Composition degree from The Florida State University, where he studied composition with Joseph Rovan and Peeter Tammearu, and piano with Leonard Mastrogiacomo. During this time, he also served as an accompanist at The Florida State University School of Dance, where he worked with Anjali Austin, Richard Sias, Sheila Humphries, and Suzanne Farrell, the last of Balanchine's ballerinas. He is a 1997 National Merit Finalist, and a finalist in the 2002-2003 United Kingdom Fulbright Fellowship competition. His interests include interactive algorithmic composition, alternate controllers, interactive diffusion, and spectral composition, and his works have been featured throughout the United States, United Kingdom, and Romania.
